Christian Heritage Tour
Updated: Feb 7
Beautiful County Down has been at the centre of Christian Ireland since the 5th Century and we can take you to many sites of interests. Examples include the island monastery of Nendrum and Bangor Abbey founded by St Comgall in 558 whose teachings were spread throughout Europe by St. Columbanus. Downpatrick Cathedral is said to be the final resting place of St. Patrick and nearby Inch Abbey is a ruined Cistercian monastic site featuring early Gothic architecture. The 17th Century heralded the growth of Presbyterianism due to Ulster Scot settlements so whatever your interest, we can arrange for half to full day tours around this stunning area.
